SISTER GOLD WHACK

Sister Gold Whack is an augmented reality experience that brings together three musical powerhouses—Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Santigold, and Tierra Whack, in a speculative moment outside of time. All Black women. All from Philly. All unapologetically themselves.

What happens when these artists, each a disruptor in her own era, share the same room? Sister Gold Whack imagines a cosmic jam session where gospel meets punk, rap riffs with rock and roll, and genre becomes a playground, not a boundary.

Accessible through a simple QR code, this project uses AR to collapse time and space, inviting viewers into a layered, immersive scene of influence, experimentation, and cultural remixing. Equal parts homage and hallucination, Sister Gold Whack honors the legacy of Black women who sound different and shift everything.
